CSA Delivery – October 12, 2011

I added a few extra items into my basket this week because I knew I wouldn’t be able to get to the farmers market the past weekend. I’m so excited about squash season, so I had to include an Acorn Squash and Butternut Squash.

There were two types of melons available this week, so I ordered both – a cantaloupe and an orange flesh melon. I love having melons with yogurt and granola for breakfast, especially now that the weather continues to stay quite warm here.

Did you know that romaine lettuce is a good source of a complete protein? Check out this handy list for more details on romaine lettuce.

Apple season is in full swing, and although I’d love to go apple picking, the next few weekends are already booked up with other plans, so I’ll have to suffice with the delivery apples – I’m not complaining…this week’s Jonagold’s look delicious.

The red onions from my CSA have had such a great taste, so they have become a regular addition to my delivery, along with carrots.
